The Three Little Pigs

During our Construction theme I love to explore the story of The Three Little Pigs.  We read as many different versions of the story that we can during the week.  I am always surprised by how much the kids love the story and how they can’t wait to hear each one again and again.

I have put together a list of the books I read during the week with links for purchase on Amazon.

The kid’s favorite by FAR was ‘The Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf’.  When we re-enacted the story, that was the version they most closely followed.  You can’t go wrong with any of these stories…they are all entertaining, engaging, and sure to please your class!

Are you struggling with hitting in your preschool classroom or at home? In this video, we’ll explore five effective steps to address this behavior and help children develop better impulse control and self-regulation. 1. Observe: Learn what triggers the hitting. Notice any patterns to time of day, hunger, overstimulation etc. Understand the importance of observing the situation before reacting. 2. Name the Emotion: Discover how to recognize and reflect back the child's feelings. (avoid "I" statements) 3. State Expectations: Understand how to communicate acceptable behavior and your classroom expectations clearly. 4. Preteach & Model: See how modeling and teaching desired behaviors on an ongoing basis can make a difference. 5. Offer Choices & Consequences: Find out how to give children choices while outlining consequences in a calm, constructive manner. As a teacher, parent, or caregiver, it’s essential to remain calm and collected. Remember, children don’t hit to annoy or upset us; it’s a sign of their own struggles. With patience and these foundational steps, you can guide them toward developing impulse control and following instructions. Join me in building a nurturing environment where every child can thrive!
