Simple Apple Orchard Dramatic Play Ideas
Every great apple orchard needs some trees. I have a small dramatic play area, so I had to get creative. Using brown and green butcher paper, I made 3 tree trunks and 3 tree tops. I made sure to make the pieces small enough to fit in our school laminator and laminated them for sturdiness. Then, I laminated some red, yellow and green construction paper and cut apples of each color. Finally, I added Velcro dots to the apples and trees for apple picking and sorting. (I repurposed the tree trunks for my fall dramatic play with leaves and fall colors). The trees also add to the visual enhancement of your dramatic play area.
Another thing you need for a great preschool apple orchard dramatic play center is Apples! Because we have a lot of play food at our school, I had an on-hand resource. I gathered all the red, yellow and green apples and apple-like food I could find and added them to my center. For baskets and bins, Dollar Tree can’t be beat for variety and price!
