Birthday Party Dramatic Play Printables
One of my favorite things is to change the Dramatic Play area each week. I also love cute, bright, and fun printable signing. The Birthday Party Dramatic Playset is all those things and more! First, I make sure there is a LOT of print in the center. Next, I like to make sure there is a number on the printables too! Lastly, I like to include things the kids can write on. For the Birthday Party sign set, I included thank you notes and invitations to print or make.
Printable Props, Toys, and more
To set up our Birthday Party Dramatic Play, I went straight to our supply closet. Since a Birthday Party is mostly decorations…this one was tough! I had a Birthday Cake playset from Melissa & Doug Toys which was perfect. Get creative and use old birthday hats from the supply closet, and any odd streamers and birthday party-ish play food you might have. Pizza is always a favorite! If you play your cards right, you don’t have to buy anything new. As a result, you will find that you can make your dramatic area look fun and inviting with little effort or expense. In fact, with just a few simple props, you’ve got all you need for a perfect Birthday Party!
Putting it All Together
One last thought about setting up a great Birthday Party in your classroom…Keep it simple, keep it fun, and most of all, see it as an invitation to PLAY! Role model how to be a guest at the party, how to be the host, or the birthday girl or boy. Sometimes kids just need a nudge before their own imaginations can take over! Take a few minutes during the week to do some observation of their play…It’s amazing to see all the learning in action!
