Farmers Market Dramatic Play Printables
I love changing my dramatic play center each week, and I love to start with printable signing. So, I created an amazing Farmers Market Dramatic Playset for my TPT store. First, the images contain pictures to bring out Farm and Harvest vocabulary. Secondly, the signs show Farm activities and ideas for how to play in the center. Last but not least, I make sure the printables I make and choose contain both numbers and print!
Farmers Market Dramatic Play Center Props
To set up our Farmers Market, I went straight to our supply closet. Since a Farmer’s Market is mostly just fruit and vegetables, we had an abundance in our play food bin. Get creative and use aprons and straw hats from the dress up bin, and any odd baskets you have on hand. If you play your cards right, you don’t have to buy anything new. As a result, you will find that you can make your dramatic area look fun and inviting with little effort or expense. In fact, with just a few simple props , you’ve got all you need for a perfect Farmer’s Market!
Farmer’s Market Checkout
The checkout area is one of the favorite parts of our Farmers Market. As I mentioned before, all you need are a few simple props and costume elements. For that reason, it is time to break out the cash register, and shopping baskets. Kids love using the cash register, taking money, and bagging the fruits and vegetables. Plus, it is one more place to use numbers, count, and work on fine motor skills. Keep in mind that you don’t want to add too many props, it can get messy and chaotic. So, remember to keep it simple and let kid’s imaginations take the lead!
Farmers Market Dramatic Play Ideas
One last thought about setting up a great Farmers Market in your classroom…Keep it simple, keep it fun, and most of all, see it as an invitation too PLAY! The most learning will come from playing. It is he language of children. Allow them to step into their imaginations and discover what it is like to take on the role of a farmer or a customer. Finally, keep your shop well-stocked with fruits, vegetables, bags, and costumes, and the kids will provide the fun and learning!
