Description
Letter sounds activities focusing on phonics set a strong foundation for reading. Kindergarten and Prekindergarten students learning basic phonics and letter sounds need a lot of practice with activities that are developmentally appropriate and make them feel successful.
This activity has 2 levels of play for beginning learners and for those ready for a challenge! Each gumball machine letter has a letter and 5 spaces to fill with beginning letter sounds gumballs! The first level has shadows of the letter sounds pictures to make it easier to find the pictures while reinforcing the beginning sounds. Make a match and learn the beginning sound! The more challenging activity has 5 blank gumball spaces for each letter. Perfect for those students who need more challenging practice on their way to mastering beginning letter sounds.
With this activity you will have the opportunity to differentiate small group and independent learning. After introduction, this activity may be accomplished independently, therefore it is a great activity for early finishers, or for independent literacy centers. Plus…it’s fun!
This resource is not theme-specific, so it may be used any time during the school year!
